The highlight of the weekend was the All-Star Basketball Game as nearly 15,000 fans cheered on some of their favorite NBA players which included; Paul Pierce, Corey Maggette, Quentin Richardson, Howard Eisley, Carmelo Anthony, Ricky Davis, T.J. Ford, Bobby Simmons, Maurice Taylor, the entire Fab Five as well as some of Rose's current Bulls teammates. LisaRaye, Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer were also in attendance as honorary coaches while R&B sensation Ashanti entertained the crowd during half-time. Being very involved in giving back to the communities where he has lived and played basketball, The Jalen Rose Foundation donated proceeds from the Jalen Rose Foundation Celebrity Weekend in the amount of $100,000 to five local charities during a pre-game check presentation on October 18 as the Bulls hosted the Bucks. The Chicago Public Schools, The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Special Olympics Illinois, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless were on hand to accept a check in the amount of $20,000, making a positive impact on thousands of lives.
