| 2004: Jalen Jams at VC Charity All-Star Game |
|
"I'm excited to announce the return of my Charity All-Star Game," said Carter. "Toronto has been my second home for the last six years and holding this game is my way of thanking the fans and giving back to the community that has supported me throughout my career." Carter added that the Embassy of Hope Foundation has focused on supporting many Toronto-based charities in need of financial support. Starlight Children's Foundation was chosen as this year's recipient because of the valued work the organization does to bring enrichment to the lives of seriously ill children and their families. The Charity All-Star Game has raised more than a half a million dollars since its inception and has sold out to record-setting crowds. Currently holding the NBA league attendance record for a charity event, the game continues to garner North American attention. Established in 1998 by Vince Carter, Embassy of Hope is a non-profit foundation that helps address the needs of children and their parents. The Foundations slogan, "Believing in Your Dreams," represents Vince's lifelong commitment to perseverance and achievement qualities that have enabled him to excel as an athlete and as a person committed to helping those less fortunate. |
