For release: Wed., April 19 -- TNT Adds New Faces to Deep Announcing Team... Turner Network Television (TNT) announced today that New York Knicks guard/forward Jalen Rose will join the TNT NBA announcing stable as a reporter during its coverage of the 2006 NBA Playoffs on TNT. Rose will offer a unique perspective by providing sideline reports, player interviews and behind the scenes aspects of the NBA Playoffs. Rose brings a wealth of experience to the announcing team having played in five NBA Playoffs throughout his 12-year career, including four consecutive playoff appearances with the Indiana Pacers alongside TNT analyst Reggie Miller. Rose first gained notoriety in the basketball community as a member of the "Fab Five," the group of players that led Michigan to two consecutive NCAA Finals in 1992 and 1993. Rose, a Communications major at Michigan, has made previous studio appearances for TNT and served as a special NBA correspondent on Fox Sports' Best Damn Sports Show Period, hosting a segment entitled Jammin' with Jalen. "Jalen is highly respected on and off the court, and we're confident he will add insight and enthusiasm to our broadcast team," said Jeff Behnke, Turner Sports Executive Producer. "As we look forward to another year of the NBA Playoffs, our announcers will continue to offer compelling commentary and deliver story lines that are essential to providing quality coverage to our viewers." TNT's announcer line-up for the Playoffs includes Marv Albert (play-by-play) and Steve Kerr (analyst), Kevin Harlan (play-by-play) and Doug Collins (analyst), Dick Stockton (play-by-play) and Reggie Miller (analyst), and Matt Devlin and an analyst to be announced. On TNT's Emmy-award winning studio show Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith will be flanked by Hall of Famers Charles Barkley and Magic Johnson to break down the Playoff action during Inside the NBA presented by Hyundai. Also new to TNT's Playoff coverage is Stephanie Ready, a Charlotte Bobcats sideline reporter and former assistant coach for the WNBA's Washington Mystics and the NBA Development League's Greenville Groove, as well as Eamon McAnaney, who recently has worked on NBA-TV. Rose, Ready and McAnaney join Playoff reporter alums Dei Lynam, Comcast SportsNet reporter for the Philadelphia 76ers and Flyers, and Charles Davis, TBS college football analyst, who return to TNT for their 10th and 3rd year, respectively. Rounding out the reporting crew are TNT?s Craig Sager, Cheryl Miller and David Aldridge. TNT NBA Playoff coverage will begin on April 23 and will continue with TNT's 40 Games in 40 Nights, concluding with exclusive coverage of the Western Conference Finals.
